In a country where winter lasts eight months, spring and summer are practically an extended national holiday. I don’t take blue skies for granted, which is exactly why I take sun protection so seriously.
For years, I employed Clinique’s City Block Sheer as my go-to summer facial moisturizer. The one-two hydrator went on super dry and offered just enough UV protection to grab a bite outdoors without the fear of burning. Then, tragedy struck: for the life of me, I simply couldn’t find it anymore. Enter Neutrogena’s Triple Protect Face Lotion. By chance, I received a tube of it in a race kit. (Funny how that works out, right?) The formula’s not quite as dry as Clinique’s, but it certainly lives up to its claims of being light and non-greasy. The SPF saves my skin from the bracing brilliance of Toronto skyscrapers on a cloudless day (never to be underestimated), and the dose of moisture keeps my mug nice and fresh. As an added bonus, it helps soothe razor burn, too. Needless to say, I stocked up.
Now, if you’d excuse me, there remain exactly 135 days of patio beer weather. I aim to make them count.
