Many publications attempt to blend the athletic lifestyle and fashion, but few succeed in the way that Tracksmith’s Meter Magazine does. Since the release of issue #00 back in November, it has become a small obsession of mine — not unlike the brand itself. (I’m imagining their Van Cortlandt singlet as a mainstay of my summer running kit.) Tracksmith uses incredible photography to capture the style and strength inherent to the sport of running. Its editorial breadth is also excellent and isn’t limited to the North Americas; I was particularly intrigued that an article about Italy’s Cinque Mulini race resides in the same issue as a piece about The Heps, the Ivy League’s premiere track race. Congratulations to editor Andy Waterman and his team for putting out a captivating product. Meter is available in print and digital editions on Tracksmith’s website.
